Original Solo Performance with Queen Shmooquan

This class series is designed to support the creation and development of an original short performance piece of any kind.  You will workshop new (or old) ideas, try them out weekly on stage, receive positive feedback from your peers and direction from facilitator Jeppa Hall, while honing basic performance skills. By the end of the series you will have a short performance or work in progress piece ready to present to an audience at our end of class showcase. 

This class is a great starting place to experiment taking creative risks while receiving support, build confidence and bring forth your own unique performative gifts.

The class will be held at The Why? Studios, 6555 5th Ave, S, Seattle, 98108 on Mondays from 7:00PM - 9:15PM on the following dates:

September 21st, September 28th, October 5th, October 12th, October 19th, October 26th, November 2nd

The student showcase will be on November 9th at 7:00PM at The Why? and will be open to the public.


This class is for you if:

  • you are an aspiring storyteller, songwriter, comedian, performance artist, dancer or musician looking to create original work.

  • have an idea for a character, persona, clown or alter ego that would like to sing, dance, or deliver a monologue or lecture.

  • have a performance idea or concept that you have mulled over for years but never  had the space or chance to bring it into fruition.

  • you would like to hone your performance skills and add more dimension to a performance medium that you already work in? 


Jeppa Hall, she/her, (Queen Shmooquan), is a multimedia performance artist/comedian, musician, vocalist and songwriter who brings over 35 years of experience to her teaching as a creator of genre defying theatre and music and unusual, experimental multimedia.
